Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is set to take charge of his 1,000th match as a manager. Fittingly, this milestone coincides with a clash against his fiercest rival of the past decade – Liverpool.
According to the statistical portal Opta Joe, Guardiola's teams have claimed 715 victories in his 999 matches so far. The Spaniard has managed clubs such as Barcelona B, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City.
In addition, the Spanish tactician will be inducted into the League Managers Association Hall of Fame, becoming only the 39th manager in modern English football history to reach the 1,000-match milestone.
