Kylian Mbappe discusses the France - Senegal match at the World Cup
France will kick off their campaign against the Lions of Teranga in a highly anticipated match on 16 June in Group I.
Whilst the World Cup officially kicked off on 11 June with the opening match, France and Senegal are waiting until 16 June for their first match of the tournament. It is a fixture that is generating a lot of buzz given the rivalry and the strengths of both teams.
In an interview with M6, Kylian Mbappe highlighted the quality of the Senegalese team. But the France captain didn’t stop there! He took a dig at the 2025 African champions, a title yet to be decided by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
“It’s good to start against Senegal. We’re playing against the African champions... er, I don’t know, whether it’s them or Morocco, we’ll try to stay out of that.”
