Kwara United has released an official statement distancing the club from the crowd disturbance that followed its Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Gameweek 22 fixture against Rivers United in Ilorin, describing the incident as deeply troubling.

The unrest occurred after the match at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, where tensions flared among sections of the home supporters. In its statement issued on Wednesday, Kwara United expressed strong disappointment over the development and firmly condemned any form of violence linked to the aftermath of the game.

“We are deeply disturbed by the events that occurred after the match and unequivocally denounce every act of violence recorded,” the statement read.
