Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando da Cruz gives a positive outlook on the team's pre-season in Spain

Fernando da Cruz is having no qualms presently as a Kaize Chiefs coach.

The French-born coach took over the reigns at the club in this off-season and oversaw the team's training in Spain where they faced various opposition.

This Sunday they face Zimbabwean side, Scottland FC, in the Toyota Cup which will be their final pre-season friendly ahead of the Betway Premiership start next weekend.

"The conditions at the training camp were very good despite the extreme heat, which affected us in playing three games in the short space of six days,” said Da Cruz to the club's media.

“Nevertheless, we were competitive in these matches against high-level teams, which gave us valuable insights to learn from.

“The attitude and team spirit were excellent, and we have made good progress in our preparations.”

So far Chiefs have made only three signings in Tabo Moloisane, Renaldo Leaner and Adolf Mtisangwe.

The club is still locked in negotiations with Stellenbosch FC over the services of winger Langelihle Phili.
