Ivorian Ligue 1: ASEC Mimosas begin title defence against Yamoussoukro FC this Saturday

The Ivorian professional league resumes on 26 September with a clash between two champions to open the season.

The ball will be rolling again in Côte d’Ivoire after a few months’ break. The 2026–2027 Ligue 1 season will kick off this Saturday, 26 September, in Yamoussoukro.

Two fixtures are scheduled to launch the new season of the Ivorian league. The 2026–2027 campaign will begin with a clash between two champions.

ASEC Mimosas, the reigning Ivorian Ligue 1 champions, will face Yamoussoukro FC, who won the Ivorian Ligue 2 last season to secure promotion to the top flight of Ivorian football. This clash between the newly promoted side and the reigning Ligue 1 champions promises to be epic. The match will take place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3.30 pm GMT.

The second fixture on this opening day of Ligue 1 will see FC Mouna take on Stade d’Abidjan. The two teams, who both played in Ligue 1 last season, know each other well. Their match is scheduled for 6 pm GMT at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.
