The English equalized in the 18th minute through a penalty, a moment that sparked significant controversy. During one of the plays, Denzel Dumfries fouled Harry Kane in a challenge. The referee adjudged it to be a penalty.
Former England and Manchester United defender Gary Neville commented on the referee's decision to award a penalty following Dumfries' foul on Kane.
"Penalty? As a former defender, I can say one thing – it is an absolute disgrace!" Neville remarked.
Additionally, Liverpool legend and former England defender Jamie Carragher also weighed in on the penalty awarded to the Netherlands, which allowed Harry Kane to equalize in the match.
