Liverpool is retaining one of the main architects behind their revamped squad.

Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Dominik Szoboszlai has agreed to sign a new five-year contract with Liverpool. The deal will run until June 2031, with both parties having already reached a verbal agreement. Independent English sources also confirm that a fundamental agreement for the extension has been achieved.

Currently, representatives of the club and the player are ironing out the final details before signing the paperwork and making an official announcement.

The Hungarian midfielder has decided to remain at Anfield, fully committing himself to Liverpool's new project under Andoni Iraola. For the new head coach, keeping one of the team's leaders is a major boost ahead of the new season.

It's worth noting that in the 2025/26 season, Szoboszlai scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists, earning him the title of Liverpool's Player of the Season. According to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old midfielder is currently valued at €100 million.
