Liverpool are prepared to shatter Mainz's transfer record in pursuit of one of the Bundesliga's most consistent midfielders.

Details: According to SPORT BILD, the English giants are ready to table a €60 million offer for Japanese international Kaishu Sano. The midfielder is expected to leave Mainz this summer, with the potential deal poised to become the biggest sale in the German club's history.

Liverpool's interest in the 25-year-old Japanese star is no coincidence. Sano has become a linchpin for Mainz and is regarded as one of the hardest-working players in the German top flight.

The midfielder's contract with Mainz runs until the summer of 2028, putting the Bundesliga side in a strong negotiating position and making it clear they have no intention of letting their leader go for a modest fee.

It's worth noting that during the 2025/26 season, Sano featured in all 34 Bundesliga matches, starting every single game. He registered one goal and two assists. Transfermarkt currently values the Japanese midfielder at €40 million.

Reminder: Second attempt. Inter refuse to give up on Liverpool star.
