The Senegalese official will take charge of the first leg, scheduled for 15 March 2026 at the Hammadi-Agrebi Stadium in Radès.
The clubs competing in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League are in full preparation mode. With the first legs scheduled for mid-March, the teams already have an idea of which referees will officiate their matches.
For the clash between Espérance Sportive de Tunis and Egyptian giants Al Ahly, the Confederation of African Football has chosen a Senegalese referee. Issa Sy will be in charge of the first leg at the Hammadi-Agrebi Stadium in Radès on 15 March. An international referee, Sy has experience in African and international football.
He has refereed matches at the Club World Cup and CAF interclub competitions. The Senegalese referee was at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where his participation was marked by his selection to referee the quarter-final clash between Algeria and Nigeria.
