Isaac Cisse stars for Golden Arrows in their 1-0 win over Durban City in the Betway Premiership match which was largely dominated by Arrows

Isaac Cisse scored the solitary goal for Golden Arrows this afternoon as they defeated Durban City by an odd goal at King Zwelithini Stadium.

The Ivorian international midfielder finished a cross inside the box after a cross from the right side.

Veteran defender Terrence Mashego could not control the move out of their half and Arrows dispossessed them to profit a goal from that.

Manqoba Mngqithi’s men had to restore themselves after a heavy defeat in midweek against Orlando Pirates.

Pirates scored a whopping five goals without conceding against Arrows at Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday night in what was a one-sided affair in Soweto.

Against Durban City, Arrows looked sharper and lplayed with intent as the result also tell a story of a team with a plan to win from the onset.

Durban City, this season’s Nedbank Cup finalist, did not look the part in this game.

Pitso Dladla’s men were nowhere to be seen with no real threat in Arrows’ half.

You would swear it’s not the team in the final with the type of football they displayed today.

This is something Dladla will need to work if he plans to see his side lift the Ke Yona competition next month.

But for today Arrows owned everything, from passing, shooting, control and flair which is why Cisse scored the game’s only goal.
