In the 50th minute, City earned a corner near Liverpool’s goal. Inside the box, City striker Erling Haaland stood next to Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. It seemed like the tension should have been at its peak, as the scoreboard read just 1-0 in favor of the Merseysiders.
Surprisingly, Haaland started smiling and said something to Szoboszlai. Judging by the Hungarian’s reaction—a smile in return—it was likely something humorous.
It’s possible the Norwegian forward was trying to distract his opponent and disrupt his focus. However, on this occasion, it didn’t work, and Liverpool managed to keep their clean sheet intact.
