Is this really Manchester City? Guardiola's team delivers a record-breaking poor first half

Manchester City is currently playing away against Liverpool, and after the first half, the Reds lead 1-0.

The only goal so far came from Cody Gakpo, assisted by Mohamed Salah, but that's not the most striking aspect of the game. Pep Guardiola's side has looked dreadful, creating virtually no danger near the opponent's goal. Their only shot at Kelleher’s goal came as late as the 39th minute, but Lewis failed to hit the target.

This is only the third time under Guardiola that Manchester City has delivered such a dismal first half in terms of shots on goal. Remarkably, the Citizens' expected goals (xG) for the half is just 0.07.

If they lose today, the reigning Premier League champions will fall 11 points behind Liverpool in the standings.
