Italian champions Inter Milan continue their preparations for the new season with active work in the transfer market. One of the club's priorities was to acquire a backup goalkeeper for Yann Sommer. Inter has found such a player in another Italian club: Genoa's goalkeeper, Josep Martinez.

Earlier, it was reported that Inter had made an offer to Genoa amounting to €13 million plus €2 million in additional payments. It appears that Genoa and Inter have reached an agreement, as, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian champions will announce the signing of the player next week. However, the contract's value has increased to €15 million plus additional fees. Inter has already agreed on all terms and scheduled a medical examination for their future player.

Josep Martinez played for Genoa for just one season. Last summer, he permanently moved to Italy from RB Leipzig for €3.5 million, having spent the previous year on loan with the Genoa team.

Additionally, it was revealed today that one of Inter's star defenders has declined a move to Saudi Arabian clubs.
