Inter has reached an agreement with the leading midfielder on a new contract
Inter has reached an agreement with the prominent midfielder, Nicolò Barella, regarding a new contract, as reported by FcInterNews.it.
According to the source, the Nerazzurri have proposed to their team leader to extend his agreement until the summer of 2028, while the current one runs until June 2026. The Italian national team player has reportedly agreed. It's noted that the footballer's salary is expected to increase to around 6.5 million euros per season.
The formal signing of the agreement and the official announcement of the deal are planned by Inter immediately after extending contracts with Federico Dimarco, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Lautaro Martínez.
In the current season, the 26-year-old Barella has played 24 matches for Inter across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
Internazionale is presently leading the Serie A table, holding a four-point lead over their closest rival, Juventus. On December 29, Simone Inzaghi's team will face Genoa in an away match in the Italian championship.
Previously, reports suggested that the Milan-based club had agreed on a contract with Napoli's top midfielder.
