Right now, Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids are battling it out in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final.
The South African side entered the match as favorites and, taking full advantage of their home turf, seized control of possession from the opening whistle. However, there was little real danger in front of the Egyptian club’s goal, with Pyramids looking to hit back on the counterattack.
The first half produced no goals for the spectators, but Sundowns’ manager certainly gave fans something to talk about. In the 36th minute, Miguel Cardoso took Tashreeq Matthews off and brought on Jayden Adams in his place.
It remains unclear whether the substitution was a reaction to the 24-year-old’s performance or due to an injury.
