Cardoso confident his finals experience will benefit Mamelodi Sundowns

As a coach, Miguel Cardoso has ample experience in finals. True, he hasn't tasted ultimate success yet, but the Portuguese tactician is convinced that this background will still be a major asset for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Details: The Portuguese specialist has been to the Europa League final with Braga and the UEFA Youth League final with Shakhtar Donetsk, but on both occasions fell just short. Now, with Mamelodi Sundowns, he hopes the story will end with silverware.
Quote: "I understand that playing in finals gives me a certain experience. I was in the Europa League final as an underdog with Braga against Porto after an incredible campaign, and we lost 1-0 in a very even match. I remember the UEFA Youth League final against Chelsea with Shakhtar Donetsk U21—we played well, but lost to Chelsea because they were much stronger, and then to Esperance.
A decision two minutes before the end could have changed the course of the match and brought us the trophy. That experience gives me strength to keep moving forward. I've already lost a league championship, but then won two in a row in wonderful countries and clubs. Hopefully, the work we've done together this season will be rewarded with the CAF Champions League trophy after these two matches."
