The outlet claims the official is trying to persuade football federations to publicly support him, as the pressure and calls for his resignation continue to intensify.
Reports indicate that the tournament's decisive match could take place at the under-construction 115,000-seater Hassan II Stadium near Casablanca. However, the final venue has not yet been officially decided: Spain is also hoping to host the World Cup's showpiece game.
Amid the crisis, Infantino is in Rabat, where he has summoned key FIFA staff for an emergency meeting. According to L’Équipe, the meeting is linked to fierce criticism of the organization's leadership and the scandal surrounding the FIFA Forward Enterprise project.
It’s worth noting that Morocco will co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, but the battle to stage the tournament's final remains wide open.
