"If the opportunity arises": Arteta on Arsenal's January transfers

Arsenal has had a mixed start to the season. In the Premier League, the Gunners sit third in the table, significantly trailing league leaders Liverpool.

Manager Mikel Arteta spoke about the upcoming January transfer window, leaving the door open for potential reinforcements.

Quote: "The transfer window gives us a chance to strengthen the team. We will only make purchases if we feel it’s necessary and if we know we have the opportunity to do so," Arteta told Fabrizio Romano.

Reminder: Over the weekend, Arsenal unexpectedly failed to beat Fulham in the 15th round of the Premier League, drawing 1-1. After the match, Arteta expressed frustration over the lack of defensive options in his squad.

Today, Arsenal faces Monaco in the UEFA Champions League. Kickoff at the Emirates is scheduled for 21:00.
