"I don't train 42 footballers," said the Chelsea coach about the large squad size
Chelsea remains active in the transfer market and currently boasts a very large squad, with over 40 players.
Chelsea's head coach, Enzo Maresca, addressed questions about the large number of players. According to him, he does not train all 42 players.
"I don't work with 42 players. I work with 21 players. The other 15-20 players train separately. I don't see them. It’s not as chaotic as it appears from the outside. Absolutely not.
They might have contracts for even 20 years, but that’s not my concern. I don’t care," stated the Italian.
As a reminder, on Wednesday, August 21, Chelsea officially announced the addition of João Félix to the squad. However, the English club did not disclose the details of the 24-year-old Portuguese's contract or the transfer fee.
It seems that Raheem Sterling does not feature in the plans of Chelsea's new head coach, Enzo Maresca. The 29-year-old winger has been left out of the squad for the second consecutive match.
