Huracán forward Matías Tissera has been jailed in Córdoba's Bower prison, reports Tyc Sports.
The footballer was detained at Ezeiza airport back on Tuesday, April 1. At that time, he was preparing to fly to Huracán's match against Corinthians.
The forward is accused of threats and extortion through a group of armed individuals. The victim is a businessman from Córdoba who allegedly deceived him in a house construction deal.
If the 28-year-old forward is found guilty, he faces up to three years in prison. Tissera will testify next Tuesday and will demand release.
Matías Tissera has played in Argentina for Newell's Old Boys, Quilmes, Independiente Rivadavia, and Platense. In 2022, the forward moved to Europe, where he had mixed success playing for Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria. At the beginning of 2025, he returned to Argentina on loan to play for Huracán until the end of the calendar year.
