“How to restore the trust of the fans?” Samuel Eto’o sends letter to CAF
Legendary footballer and current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, has written a letter to CAF officials.
Details: According to L’Équipe, the former Cameroon striker questioned how, after such decisions, it is possible to restore fans’ trust in CAF competitions and how to reaffirm their legitimacy.
Quote: “How can we restore the trust of African fans in their CAF? How can we confirm our legitimacy without further undermining the authority of our organization?” Eto’o wrote.
We previously reported that African football was shaken by a decision that effectively rewrote the outcome of the recent Africa Cup of Nations final. The result of the championship clash was annulled, and Senegal’s victory was declared invalid.
Reminder: The Senegalese Football Federation has officially demanded that CAF immediately halt any procedures to hand over the AFCON 2025 gold medals and trophy to the Moroccan national team.
