The Senegal national team achieved a rare feat in their World Cup match against Iraq — three players managed to both score and deliver an assist in the same game.
Details: Ismaïla Sarr, Pape Gueye, and Iliman Ndiaye all found the net and set up goals in Senegal’s clash with Iraq.
This is the first time in 12 years that such a feat has been achieved at a World Cup. The last team to do it was Germany, who thrashed Brazil 7-1 in the 2014 tournament.
In that legendary 2014 World Cup semifinal, Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira, and Thomas Müller each scored and assisted.
Now, Senegal has etched its name into this exclusive statistical club. The team didn’t just produce a dazzling result — they evoked memories of a match that’s long been etched into World Cup folklore.
