The official announcement is expected soon.

Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, 42-year-old Italian manager Daniele De Rossi is set to sign a contract with Genoa within 24 hours and take over as the club’s head coach.

Reports indicate that De Rossi has already arrived in Milan today to meet with Genoa’s management and finalize the last details before putting pen to paper.

Genoa parted ways with Patrick Vieira after a run of poor results and considered several candidates for the job, but De Rossi was ultimately chosen as the man to turn the team's fortunes around.

In his coaching career, De Rossi has managed SPAL and AS Roma, but has yet to stay at any club for more than a single season.

At the moment, Genoa sit 18th in Serie A with just 6 points and 16 goals conceded after 10 matchdays.

Reminder: Official: Patrick Vieira dismissed as Genoa head coach
