Here we go! Another Chelsea goalkeeper will continue his career at a different club
Chelsea continues to streamline their squad by loaning out another goalkeeper. On Thursday, August 29, Kepa Arrizabalaga was sent to Bournemouth, and now George Petrovic is leaving the club as well.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Serbian goalkeeper is moving to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg. Petrovic will spend the season on loan and return to Chelsea in the summer of 2025. All paperwork is currently being processed, with official confirmation expected soon.
Last season, Petrovic made 23 appearances. However, with the arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca, it became clear that the Serbian would not be the first-choice goalkeeper.
Additionally, Chelsea's manager has made strong comments about Raheem Sterling and other players not in his plans. According to him, those not getting game time and training separately are better off finding new clubs sooner rather than later.
