"He is part of our plans for next season" - Arne Slot responds to rumors of other clubs' interest in Curtis Jones
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot addressed transfer rumors surrounding Curtis Jones during his pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup clash with Brighton.
Details: The Merseysiders' boss made it clear that the club has no intention of letting go of their homegrown talent. Earlier, reports linked Newcastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa with a potential summer move for the midfielder.
Amid mounting interest from other European heavyweights, Slot remained composed and underscored the player's importance to his project.
"It's completely normal that Curtis Jones is attracting interest from top clubs. We, just like them, are keen on him: we want to extend his contract, while others want to sign him. He will be part of our plans for the coming weeks, months, and next season as well," Slot stated.
It's worth noting that the young Englishman has already made 32 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions this season, registering just one assist, which came in the Premier League fixture against Burnley.
Reminder: Virgil van Dijk became the highest-scoring defender in Liverpool's Premier League history.
