The future of 25-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones at Liverpool has come into question.

Details: According to TeamTalk, talks to extend Curtis Jones' contract, which expires in 18 months, have yet to begin. Three Premier League clubs—Newcastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa—are looking to capitalize on the situation, viewing Jones as the perfect addition to bolster their midfield.

Newcastle are showing the most concrete interest. Magpies boss Eddie Howe considers Jones a potential replacement for Sandro Tonali, who continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal. However, competition is fierce: Tottenham already made inquiries about Jones in January, while Unai Emery at Aston Villa is eager to bring in a player with an English passport and experience in title races.

Arne Slot himself made it clear in a recent interview with the club’s management that he doesn’t want to lose Jones. The manager emphasized the midfielder’s importance, noting that with a packed schedule and a limited squad, selling Jones would be a bizarre move. Still, Slot admitted that contract negotiations are handled elsewhere in the club, and there have been no updates on a new deal so far.

It’s worth noting that the English midfielder has played 30 matches this season. Over those appearances, he has provided just 1 assist—in a Premier League fixture against Burnley. Transfermarkt currently values him at €40 million.

Reminder: Real Madrid are revisiting the idea of signing Ibrahima Konaté.
