GPL: Mallam Yahaya Expresses Strong Belief in Bechem United Ahead of Medeama SC Showdown

Bechem United assistant coach Mallam Yahaya says he is confident his side can overcome league leaders Medeama Sporting Club when the two teams meet on Saturday, November 22, in their matchday 11 fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

While speaking ahead of their much-anticipated matchday 11 clash with Bechem United TV, Mallam Yahaya acknowledged Medeama’s impressive form but stressed that Bechem United are equally committed to competing at a high level.

“Medeama are one of the best in the league this season. We are also working and we are working on the shortcomings in the team. We are preparing very well because we don’t want to lose any points, whether away or at home,” he said, underscoring the team’s determination to remain competitive throughout the season.

Yahaya further emphasized that despite giving Medeama the respect they deserve, Bechem United will approach the match with determination and a positive mindset.

“We respect them, but we will play to fight for the points. At the end of the day, we hope to pick up at least a point. We lost there last season does not mean we will lose again. Everything can happen in football, and the mentality we take into the game is very important,” he told Bechem United TV.

Bechem United’s season has been challenging so far, with the team managing only two wins in their first ten Ghana Premier League fixtures. Their early struggles have left them 15th on the table with just nine points.
