GPL: Bechem United’s Benjamin Asiedu Reacts After Missing Out on Man of the Match Award
Bechem United goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu has voiced his disappointment after missing out on the Man of the Match award in his team’s goalless draw against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League. The honor instead went to Medeama midfielder Salim Adams.
Speaking after the match, Asiedu acknowledged that failing to win the award was tough to take, but he remained proud of his overall display.
“I think we knew this game would be very difficult, so we knew we had to put up a good performance. We were determined to secure either a point or all three points.
"I’m disappointed [I didn’t win the Man of the Match] but I respect the decision,” Asiedu said.
He added that the snub does not take away from his confidence.
“Although I didn’t win the Man of the Match, I’m not disappointed with my performance. I’m proud of myself. I will keep my head down and continue working hard in the upcoming games.”
Asiedu delivered a commanding performance between the posts on Saturday afternoon, making crucial saves that ensured the Hunters returned home with an important point from their Week 11 fixture.
