Gilberto Silva Expresses Admiration for Egypt and Praises Mohamed Salah


Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva expressed his happiness at visiting Egypt, highlighting the passion of Egyptian fans for football.
“Egyptian fans love the Brazilian national team and Arsenal. Their passion reminds me of Brazilian supporters. This visit won’t be my last,” he said. He also shared his amazement at seeing the Pyramids: “I studied Egyptian history, but witnessing it in person was different.”
Silva recalled playing against Egypt in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, calling it “a tough match.” While he doesn’t follow the Egyptian league closely, he has noticed clubs performing in African competitions.
Regarding Mohamed Salah, Silva was full of praise: “Salah is a fantastic player, adored by fans. Egypt should continue producing players like him for top European clubs and the World Cup.”
When asked to compare Salah to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Silva stated: “Salah has broken many of Henry’s records. He is making history.” He also expressed hope that Salah could win the Ballon d’Or: “He is among the best in football history, and many clubs would love to have him.”
Silva also spoke highly of Mohamed Elneny, calling him “a great character who always supports his teammates.”
Regarding Arsenal’s title chances, he said: “They must improve, but if Liverpool stumbles, they have a great chance.”
Finally, Silva praised Al Ahly’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, believing it will be a great experience for the players.
