Germany advanced to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 by defeating Denmark in Dortmund in the round of 16.

The German team, playing as hosts, started the match more aggressively and even managed to score early on, but Schlotterbeck's goal was disallowed due to a foul by Kimmich. Denmark attempted to push back but struggled to create any significant attacking opportunities. The game was interrupted by a hailstorm in Dortmund, prompting referee Michael Oliver to lead the teams off the field. After a delay of 16 minutes, the match resumed.

Early in the second half, Andersen's goal was disallowed for offside, and shortly afterward, a handball by a Danish player in the penalty area led to a penalty for Germany. Kai Havertz converted the penalty confidently to make it 1-0. Midway through the half, Germany doubled their lead as Musiala capitalized on a superb pass from Schlotterbeck to score his third goal of the tournament.

Germany will now face the winner of the Spain vs Georgia match in the semifinals, which will take place on June 30th.

Euro 2024 Round of 16
