Gamphani Lungu cites his PSL experience as the reason he is shining for Orlando Pirates
That he has spent more than five years in the PSL is what makes Gamphani Lungu impress for Betway Premiership defending champions Orlando Pirates.
The former SuperSport United and Siwelele FC marksman has been impressive for Pirates since he arrived in pre-season scoring some crucial goals.
And the Zambian said this is largely due to his familiarity with South African football having been here for a while now.
"I’ve been in the league for the past eight years,” said Lungu to his club's media team.
“It wasn’t really a surprise, but it was a boost to know that a big club was talking to me and wanting me to add to their club.
“It was a really good thing. Really felt good.
“I know most of the players. Even some of the players that are here, I’ve played with some of them back at SuperSport and stuff like that.
“The players I came with from Siwelele are also here. That’s why I think I could adapt easily. I think the experience of being in the whole football industry has played a big part in it.”
This evening he will be expected to lead Pirates as they face Sekhukhune United at Orlando Amstel Arena for a PSL match.
The game starts at 7.30pm.
