France defeated Morocco 2-0 to reach the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and it has now been revealed how much prize money the French Football Federation will receive for the achievement.
Details: According to L'Équipe, the French Football Federation will receive €25.4 million for France's place in the World Cup semi-finals. The publication also revealed the prize money allocated for each medal position at the tournament:
• Third place: €25.4 million
• Runners-up: €28.9 million
• World champions: €43.7 million
In addition, the French Football Federation will receive an extra €2.5 million to help cover tournament-related expenses.
Reminder: France and Morocco are facing off in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and although a penalty was awarded midway through the first half, questions have since been raised over whether the incident involved simulation.
