France and Morocco are facing off in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and although a penalty was awarded midway through the first half, questions have since been raised over whether the incident involved simulation.
Details: The Archivo VAR account published several screenshots, claiming that Kylian Mbappé dived in the incident and that Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui made no contact with the France forward.
Quote: "Mbappé dives before any contact with Mazraoui. In fact, it's such an obvious dive that the Frenchman should have been shown a yellow card," the post read.
Meanwhile, Morocco's Ayyoub Bouaddi has become the second-youngest player ever to feature in a FIFA World Cup quarter-final. He is currently 18 years and 280 days old.
Reminder: Lionel Messi recently set another unique FIFA World Cup record.
