Another renowned footballer who competed at the highest level in Europe has announced his retirement.

Details: Former attacking midfielder for PSG, Roma, Palermo, and the Argentina national team, Javier Pastore, has officially hung up his boots.

In recent years, Pastore’s career was plagued by injuries, and his last club was Qatar SC, which he left in the summer of 2023. Since then, he has not been able to find a new team.

“My body couldn’t take it anymore. The hip injury was very severe and limited my ability to play. Football was leaving me, and my mind was losing strength because it was unbearable. We’re parting ways,” Pastore said in an interview with Relevo.

Reminder: In the summer of 2011, PSG acquired Pastore from Palermo for €42 million, marking one of the club's first major signings in the Sheikh era.

Pastore played 29 matches for Argentina, scoring 2 goals.
