Former Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo on the title race: I believe it is for Pirates to lose because they have the experience o win it
Thulani Hlatshwayo sees Orlando Pirates lifting the Betway Premiership trophy next month.
The former Bafana Bafana captain said Pirates are making a meaningful challenge to the title as they plan to dethrone eight time champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Hlatshwayo, who also played for the Sea Robbers, said this title is for Pirates to lose.
Pirates are atop of the PSL standings with a point and a game more than Sundowns and for the first time in almost a decade they have intensified their championship pursuit.
“For me it’s for Pirates to lose, yeah – everywhere I go they ask who I think will win the league, for me, look at the last five games, like you mentioned they could have scored two more goals against TS Galaxy, it will go down to the wire with goal-difference,” he said on the Arena Sports Show.
“Discipline and everything, they have done it before, they are experienced, Sundowns are experienced with this and picking up form now. As much as coach Cardoso and journalists check, at this point of the year Sundowns had scored this and how many points they had. They have a goal everywhere for Sundowns – but for me? To answer your question, it’s for Pirates to lose."
