Following Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich, the Spanish club’s dressing room was visited by Florentino Pérez after the game.
Details: According to MatchDay Central, the Real Madrid president entered the dressing room after the match and was visibly angered by the situation.
Quote: “One trophyless season at Real Madrid is a failure. Two is unacceptable.”
“I appreciate today’s effort, but this season has been a real disappointment.”
“Playing for Real Madrid is a privilege with great responsibility. Many of you have not lived up to it.”
“At the very least, finish the league with dignity,” he said.
Real Madrid have been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, with only La Liga remaining. They are currently nine points behind Barcelona with seven matches left to play.
It was also revealed after the match that the Real Madrid head coach clarified who he believes was responsible for the game unraveling.
As previously reported, Eduardo Camavinga came on in the second half. He received his first yellow card in the 78th minute and then, just eight minutes later, a second. What’s more, the second yellow card was rash and unnecessary.
Reminder: Immediately after the final whistle, emotions were still running high, and Real Madrid players sought to confront the referee.
