Flop? Vozinha could be left without money and leave Colo-Colo

After a fairytale summer, Vozinha's career has suddenly reached another crossroads.

Details: According to journalist Nahuel Ferreira, the 40-year-old goalkeeper's future at Colo-Colo is already in serious doubt. The contract mechanism previously reported in Chile states that Vozinha's current deal runs until the end of 2026, with an automatic 12-month extension activated if he plays at least 50% of Colo-Colo's minutes during the relevant calculation period.

Failing to reach that threshold would not automatically terminate his current contract early. Instead, the extension for 2027 would not be triggered, leaving Vozinha and Colo-Colo to negotiate separately if they want to continue together. Without a new agreement, the goalkeeper could leave as a free agent when his existing deal expires.

At club level, the main issue has been playing time rather than a disastrous statistical record. Vozinha has made two Chilean league appearances for Colo-Colo, completing 180 minutes, conceding one goal and keeping one clean sheet. He also started the 3-0 Chile Cup victory over Unión Española.

His first Cape Verde appearance since the World Cup was far more painful. The Blue Sharks lost 3-1 away to Mali in their opening 2027 AFCON qualifier on September 25, with Vozinha starting in goal. He was directly involved in the third goal after losing possession outside his penalty area.

It is worth noting that Vozinha played all four of Cape Verde's matches at the 2026 World Cup and kept two clean sheets during the group stage, including the memorable 0-0 draw against Spain.
