Ex-Liverpool midfielder names condition for Slot's team to win the Premier League

Liverpool enters the new season with a new coach. But despite that, the public expects Arne Slot to keep the bar set high by Jürgen Klopp. At least Liverpool will stay in the top 4.

As for the championship, opinions differ. Thus, Liverpool midfielder in 1999-2004 Danny Murphy believes that the team lacks something to triumph over Manchester City in the Premier League standings:

‘Well, the window hasn't closed. And the reality is that Liverpool's transfer activity over the last five or six years has been excellent. I expect them to finish in the top four, but I don't think they will beat Manchester City.

They can't win with this squad, can they? I don't think so. They'll be better, of course they will. Significant new acquisitions - yes, I think a centre midfielder and a supporting midfielder.

You can't judge a team's signings until the window is closed. Big acquisitions and real high-quality players sometimes take time to adapt,’ he told talkSPORT.

Earlier, Merseyside legend Jamie Carragher shared his expectations of Slot's job.
