Liverpool legend doesn't give Slot any time to rock out
Jurgen Klopp's last few years at Liverpool have accustomed the team to winning trophies on a relatively regular basis, something the Scousers have not always been able to boast in the past. The club's legends urge the German's successor, Arne Slot to keep the momentum going.
This opinion was expressed by former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Carragher, who is confident that the Dutchman already has the resource to achieve results here and now:
"Liverpool have got some of the best players in Europe. We are bringing in a good manager and I am sure we will bring in one or two players, we have a big squad.
The idea of Liverpool having a year's break to let the manager settle in is something I don't agree with. We did that when I played and every time a manager came in it was a five-year plan.
We have a real chance of winning the Champions League and that is the pressure of managing Liverpool. I'm sure the coach will be thinking about the fact that he needs to get into the top four and it would be great to win a trophy - it would be a great season.
I just want us to fight for everything. Under Klopp we didn't win everything, but we fought for everything," Carragher told Sky Sports.
