Bordeaux has responded to the unfavorable opinion issued by the French National Olympic and Sports Council (CNOSF), which recommended upholding the DNCG's decision to exclude the club from the national championship. The Girondins expressed their surprise but emphasized that a final decision has not yet been made.

"At this stage, this is not a decision, but a recommendation. The decision now falls under the jurisdiction of the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation," the club's statement reads.

The club noted that new investors have provided significant financial guarantees to ensure the team's continued operations. On July 31, Gérard Lopez sold his shares in the club to Sparta Capital for a symbolic one euro, and the new investor injected €10.6 million. These funds were intended to help complete the 2026/27 season, settle old debts, and fulfill the requirements of the continuation plan.

Despite this financial backing, Bordeaux remains excluded from the national championship for now. Currently, the club is registered in Group B of the Regional League 1 of Nouvelle-Aquitaine (the sixth division).

Bordeaux officials have warned that a final exclusion from competition could lead to the club's dissolution. It's worth noting that the Girondins have been crowned champions of France six times and remain one of the most storied clubs in the history of French football.
