Everything can change. Barcelona and Nike contract could improve the club's financial situation
Recently, Barcelona has faced significant challenges due to its financial situation, struggling to sign new players, register current ones, and even parting ways with some of its squad members. However, things might soon change as the club is nearing the final stages of a new deal with Nike.
Details: Throughout most of 2023, Barcelona has been negotiating with Nike for a new sponsorship agreement. The Catalans believe their current deal with the American sportswear giant has become outdated and have been seeking more favorable terms in a new contract.
There have been conflicting reports recently regarding the deal’s progress - some sources suggest the contract is close to being finalized, while others believe it may not happen soon.
However, according to Marca, Barcelona and Nike are in the final stages of completing the agreement. The contract is expected to last for ten years, with Barcelona set to receive €140 million per season.
Additionally, Barcelona is reported to receive a €150 million signing bonus as part of the deal. This sum would be sufficient to restore the "1:1" financial rule in La Liga, allowing the club to register all its players without restrictions.

Reminder: Following the injury to Marc-André ter Stegen, Barcelona requested special permission under La Liga’s Article 77, which allowed them to release 80% of the goalkeeper’s salary to sign Wojciech Szczęsny.
Another potential solution to Barcelona’s financial troubles could have been the sale of their young talent, Lamine Yamal, to Paris Saint-Germain for €250 million - a proposal the club declined. Yamal was named La Liga's Player of the Month for September.
