Everton has a new unexpected buyer in the person of the owner of the Italian giants
After the current owner of Everton, Farhad Moshiri, failed to reach an agreement with 777 Partners and Blue Heaven Holdings Limited for the sale of the controlling stake, he continues to seek new buyers.
Today, it was reported that two Liverpool businessmen, supported by an American billionaire, are vying for the deal. Additionally, it has emerged that the owner of one of Italy's football giants is also among the contenders. This refers to The Friedkin Group, owned by Dan Friedkin, who controls AS Roma.
According to Sky Sports UK, Friedkin is one of five bidders for the purchase of Everton's controlling stake. The American businessman's fortune is estimated at approximately £4.8 billion.
The Friedkin Group acquired AS Roma in 2020 for €591 million, and since his arrival, the club's situation has stabilized. Last year, he also purchased FC Cannes, which competes in the fourth tier of French football, having won a contest against 73 other investors.
It's worth noting that before acquiring Roma, Friedkin attempted to buy AC Milan, but his €1.2 billion offer was unsuccessful, and the deal fell through.
It should be noted that in the previous season, despite a points deduction, Everton managed to avoid relegation and secured the fifteenth place in the Premier League.
