The deal for the purchase of a controlling stake in Everton by 777 Partners and Blue Heaven Holdings Limited has collapsed, according to an official club statement.

The agreement with the American company was signed last September, giving 777 Partners until June 1 to finalize the deal. However, this did not materialize as 777 Partners failed to secure the necessary funds to purchase the Liverpool-based club.

Everton will continue to operate as usual and will resume the search for a new owner. Currently, the club is owned by Farhad Moshiri.

Reports indicate that Everton is facing significant financial difficulties. Media sources have suggested that external administration might be considered, due to Everton's debt to 777 Partners, which stands at £200 million. This includes £15 million allocated for salary payments and stadium expenses.

It was reported that the threat of bankruptcy could become imminent within 48 hours if the takeover proposal from 777 Partners is officially withdrawn.
