Arsenal can now officially cross Vinicius off their transfer wish list.

Details: According to radio station COPE, Vinicius Junior has told his agents that he wants to stay at Real Madrid.

“Sort everything out as soon as possible. I want to stay,” the Brazilian made his stance crystal clear to his representatives. The forward has absolutely no interest in moving to another club; he is determined to continue his career solely in Madrid.

Vinicius’s statement puts an end to the drawn-out transfer saga, where Arsenal had emerged as the main contender for the Brazilian star. The Gunners were reportedly ready to splash out up to €150 million, and Mikel Arteta even tried to personally convince the player to make the switch to England. However, Vinicius’s contract with Real runs until the summer of 2027, and another round of extension talks is scheduled for this week. Now that the player’s intentions are clear, a new deal seems just a matter of time.

Fun fact: according to sources, Vinicius’s demands for the new contract are around €20 million net per season, while Real previously made a final “take it or leave it” offer.
