Yesterday, the UEFA Euro 2024 Championship kicked off in Germany. England is considered one of the favorites in this tournament and hopes to claim the trophy after losing to Italy in the final of the last Euro.

The Three Lions will play their first match tomorrow against Serbia at the AufSchalke Arena. However, besides the national team's performances, there are numerous rumors about the fate of head coach Gareth Southgate after the tournament. His contract expires at the end of the Euro, and it was previously reported that Southgate himself stated he would have to leave the team if they do not win the trophy.

Nevertheless, the Football Association (FA) seems to have a different perspective on this matter. According to The Mirror, the FA is ready to offer Southgate a contract extension regardless of England's performance in the continental championship.

In his eight years as coach, Southgate has led England to the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup and the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup. Let's not forget their second-place finish at Euro 2020.

The FA hopes that Southgate will guide their team through the qualification for the 2026 World Cup and accompany them to the tournament in North America.
