The Frenchman stepped onto Philippe Chatrier court right after world No. 361 Loïs Boisson stunned third seed Jessica Pegula with a sensational victory. Wearing a broad smile, Dembélé took to the tennis court and unveiled the Champions League trophy to the fans in the stands.
This appearance by the PSG forward electrified the atmosphere, adding to the excitement for the supporters who had just celebrated their compatriot Boisson’s incredible upset. Boisson, notably, became the only Frenchwoman to reach the Roland Garros quarterfinals this year.
It’s worth noting that in the quarterfinals, Loïs Boisson will face world No. 6 Mirra Andreeva, who defeated Australia’s Daria Kasatkina in straight sets in her own match.
As a reminder, PSG won the Champions League for the first time in their history this past Saturday. In the final, the Parisians demolished Inter Milan with a commanding 5-0 victory.
