Saziso Magawana netted for Durban City as they beat Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premierhsip clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium to move to fourth spot in the table.
Maagawana profited from a Kyle Jurgens cross to score witha cut back to beat Washington Arubi in goals for the home side.
Marumo Gallants are using the Lucas Moripe Stadium as they venue for an indefinite period as their home ground Dr Molemela Stadium is under renovations.
The win for City sees them overtake Chiefs on the fourth spot while Gallants drop further in the relegation quagmire as they are third from bottom with 15 points.
That point tally is equal to Orbit College who are on the 15th spot and three more than bottom placed Magesi FC.
Durban CIty's interim coach Pitso Dladla would be pleased by this result as he is holding the fort until the team finds a permanent coach.
They have been without a coach after Sinethemba Badela left the team having differed with how he wanted the to play comparatively to the club's management preferred style.
