Does Mourinho know about the clone? Real Madrid coach points Vinícius to the exit
The story surrounding Vinícius is becoming more surreal by the day.
Details: Ahead of Real Madrid's LaLiga clash with Sevilla, José Mourinho made a striking admission about Vinícius Júnior. The Portuguese coach said that, had he been in the Brazilian's position, he probably would not have stayed in Madrid after everything the winger has faced.
“If I were in his place, I would have insisted on leaving for another league, where I would be respected by other clubs and fans. But because of his love for Real Madrid and Madrid, he believes things can still get better. He renewed his contract and keeps smiling,” Mourinho said.
The comments immediately gave supporters another reason to revive one of the strangest stories surrounding Vinícius. In fan discussions and memes, an ironic version has appeared suggesting, without any evidence, that the Brazilian himself may believe the viral conspiracy theory about a Vinícius clone. The theory spread online after the World Cup, with users comparing the player's appearance, tattoos and performances and joking that the original Vinícius had supposedly been replaced by a double or clone. There is no evidence supporting those claims.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid officially extended Vinícius' contract in June 2026, tying him to the club until June 30, 2032. At the time of the announcement, the Brazilian had made 375 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 128 goals and winning 14 trophies with the club.
