Disagreements have emerged within the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) regarding the candidacy of a new head coach for the national team.

According to reports from OwnGoalNigeria, members of the technical committee responsible for assessing interested managers are divided in their opinions on selecting a suitable specialist for the national team's leadership position.

It's noted that many committee members advocate for the appointment of former national team player Emmanuel Amunike. However, another faction insists that the Super Eagles should be led by a foreign expert.

Supporters of Amunike argue that he has a better understanding of local football, and his appointment would be more economically advantageous. Advocates for a foreign coach claim that currently, no Nigerian coach is capable of effectively managing the country's main team.

It's worth recalling that Finidi George was appointed as the interim coach of the Nigerian national team. He will lead the team in the upcoming friendly matches against Ghana and Mali.
