On Wednesday, April 9, two more UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matches took place. Our team selects the best player of the matchday.

According to Dailysports, the Player of the Day is PSG winger Désiré Doué. Aston Villa took the lead in their match against Paris Saint-Germain, but just four minutes later, Doué restored the balance. And it was a spectacular goal: a shot into the far top corner from outside the box, hitting the crossbar.

An incredibly important goal that allowed PSG to go into halftime with a 1-1 draw. Doué also successfully dribbled twice, completed 89% of his passes, and won eight out of 13 duels. He drew two fouls and could have scored a brace, but hit the post.

Doué’s crucial goal helped PSG regroup and secure a 3-1 victory in the first leg of the quarterfinals. Therefore, Désiré Doué is the player of the day.

As a reminder: This goal was Désiré Doué's fifth in the last four matches. The forward had previously scored against Saint-Étienne (a brace), Dunkirk, Angers, and now Aston Villa.
